I don't think I ever met Vera, but I'd bet a lot of people in Ida remember her, based on what I read below!
And.... she IS an Ida High alumnist!!!

Vera Marie Ziesmer March 25, 1918-March 3, 2007
IDA - Vera Marie Ziesmer, 88, of Ida died Saturday morning in her home.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in Capaul Funeral Home. She will lie in state from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bruce Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Born March 25, 1918, in Monroe, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Schuler) Drodt. She married Walter Ziesmer on June 6, 1939, in East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church. He died Feb. 4, 1997.
A graduate of Ida High School, she was employed by Ida Canning Factory and Ida Variety Store. She worked for 23 years as a clerk for the Ida Post Office, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, for which she sewed quilts. She had also volunteered at the Lutheran Home, Monroe.
Surviving are two sons, Donald (Susan) of Elk Rapids and Dave (Barbara) of Ida; two daughters, Barbara Bradley and Trudy (Christopher) Hill, both of Ida; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice, East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church Window Fund or the Ida Volunteer Fire Department.
