Summerfield shuts out state-ranked Blue StreaksMay 04. 2007 11:15PM www.monroenews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070505/SPORTS/105050040PETERSBURG - There should be no doubt now that Summerfield's baseball team is for real. The Bulldogs knocked off Ida, the No. 9 ranked team in Division 3, 2-0 Friday in a classic pitchers' duel. Kyle Hildebrand threw a two-hit complete game with seven strikeouts for the Bulldogs. Ida's Mike Rivet was nearly as effective, throwing a four-hitter. Hildebrand is 5-0 and has yet to give up an earned run in 28 1/3 innings. "He has really done the job and we played great defense behind him," said coach Darrell Polter. "It was a great ballgame, a battle of two excellent teams." Tyler Glass doubled for 11-1 Summerfield. David Brubaker drove in a run with a suicide squeeze after a single and stolen base by Zach McGregor. Ryan Locke and Brett Clymer had the only hits for 9-2 Ida.
