Condolences go out to the Dunsmore family. I remember Sherm being a good friend of my older brother Jeff, and being a good basketball player.

Sherman Dunsmore Aug. 5, 1957-Feb. 8, 2008
Sherman Dunsmore, age 50, of Saline left this life on February 8, 2008, after a two-year battle with melanoma, which ended at Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor.
Sherman was born on August 5, 1957, to Roland and Doris (Burwitz) Dunsmore of Ida.
He graduated from Ida High School in 1975. He attended Eastern Michigan University part time while working full time for many years, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, history and political science from Eastern in 1997.
He would like to be remembered for his many years of coaching JV softball at Ida High School and he was proud of the fact that during those years the Ida team won two state championships and was a runner-up at the state level two other years.
After working at various places such as the Ypsilanti State Hospital and the Forensic Center in Ypsilanti, Sherman found his calling by working to improve the lives of teenage boys at Boysville in Clinton, MI, where he served in various capacities and where he was presently a program coordinator.
Left behind to mourn him are his parents, his financee, Ellen Waradzin of Saline, his twin sister, Karen Balfour of Denver, Co, his brother, Clay (Sue) presently residing in France, his sister, Carla (Matt) Nichols of Howard City, MI and his nephews Shallum Powell, Jacob Nichols, and Sam Nichols.
Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3879 Jackman Road, Ida, at 2 pm on Saturday, February 16. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 pm to 2 pm on the 16th. Friends are invited to a meal afterward in the church parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Arbor Hospice, Immanuel Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice are suggested.
