Ida made more out of less Friday in the Monroe County Fair Softball Tournament.
The pre-tournament favorite had only three hits and left just three runners on base but came from behind to beat Dundee 4-2.
That puts Ida in the winners' bracket finals at 12:45 p.m. today against Mason.
Those teams split their two meetings in the Ida Tournament with Mason winning in eight innings and Ida in seven.
Frenchtown blew a 10-1 lead but came back to beat South Rockwood 11-10 in Friday's losers' bracket game.
The rest of today's schedule includes three elimination games - Dundee vs. Frenchtown at 9 a.m., Custer against Summerfield at 10:45 and the winners of those two games meeting at 2:30 p.m.
Baseball begins Sunday along with the final losers' bracket game in softball.
Ida 4, Dundee 2
Dundee gave Ida a tough battle although the offense shut down after the first inning. Ida had just seven baserunners, but four of them scored.
"It was a little too close for me," said Ida coach Rich Zeiler. "These kids never get down, never hang their heads. This is the toughest Dundee has played us. They played a heck of a game. I take nothing away from Dundee."
Dundee took a 2-0 lead in the opening inning on a walk to Cassandra Fox, Bailey Scheich's triple and Vanessa Ewing's sacrifice bunt. Singles by Nesha Schultz, Khali Burd and Brookelyn Cosner were Dundee's only hits the rest of the game.
Ida tied things in the third inning when Kelsey Lampkowski walked, stole second and came around to score on a passed ball and wild pitch. Kelsey Cherry doubled, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on wild pitch.
Stephanie Iacoangeli beat out on infield single for Ida in the fourth and came around on an error and two passed balls. It added an insurance run in the fifth with two walks and a throwing error.
Tabatha Lajiness had Ida's only other hit. Iacoangeli and Toni Hughes pitched well with Hughes throwing three shutout innings in relief and striking out the side in the sixth.
Dundee got strong pitching performances from Ewing and Miccala Domosle.
