Here are his views on Game 1 of the World Series: Vergiels spent 11 hours at Comerica Park Saturday. He was there at noon to rehearse and go through sound checks. "There was complete euphoria in the ballpark when the game started. In the first inning (when the Tigers took a 1-0 lead), the place was blazing. Everybody was waving rally towels. Considering his record and ERA, it looked like they were going to get to him,'' he said of St. Louis rookie Anthony Reyes, who had a 5-8 record and a 5.06 ERA during the regular season. "Then (Albert) Pujols hit that home run. Boy, they have a lot of firepower. The Tigers looked rusty. The throws weren't there and they didn't hit.'' On tonight's Game 2, which will match Kenny Rogers against former Tiger Jeff Weaver: "I'm really looking forward to it. It could be the best matchup of the series. I have a lot of confidence in Rogers.''
